The homeowners were seeking a design that would complement the formality of the recently renovated residence and add aesthetic appeal, as well as utilise their limited outdoor living space. To achieve this, the expert pool builders Exotic Pools were brought in and a retaining wall was constructed to ensure maximum usage of the rear of the property, which is located on a substantially steep slope.
The stunning 8m x 3.85m pool was set at the residential level to give access to the pavilion, and was set against a retaining wall that separates the upper level at the rear of the block. By situating the pool in this location, full utilisation of the outdoor space was achieved.
With their years of knowledge and experience, Exotic Pools also constructed the hard landscape features as predetermined by the homeowners. A pavilion and barbecue area were designed to incorporate an open yet private outdoor living space ideal for all types of entertaining. Timeless bluestone pavers were chosen to floor both the entertaining area and the garden steps for a clean and classic look.
Excavation works took place to create two new levels leading to the car port at the rear of the property, which is substantially higher than the street front. Special engineering for the construction of the pool and retaining wall was needed along the length of one pool wall and the boundary wall structure at the rear of the pavilion.
The expert pool builder then rendered the interior of the pool to achieve an inviting glacial blue appearance. An automated control sensor for the solar heating system was also installed, to enable the homeowners to select their preferred water temperature.
