Set against a backdrop of rolling pastures, native timber, and distant mountain ridges, this property required a custom concrete pool design that would honour its rural surroundings while providing high-performance, resort-style living.
The Vision: Elevating the Yarra Valley Scenery
The topography at Steels Creek offered incredible panoramic views across the valley, but the natural fall of the land presented distinct engineering opportunities. Rather than cutting the pool deep into the slope and losing line-of-sight to the horizon, the Exotic Pools team engineered the pool to sit substantially out-of-ground.
By elevating the concrete shell on the fall of the block, the waterline is lifted directly into the visual plane of the countryside. Whether you are swimming laps, lounging on the deck, or gazing out from the home’s sunroom, the water reflects the sky and encapsulates the sweeping hillside vistas.
To maintain these unbroken views, frameless clear glass fencing was integrated along the perimeter. The crystal-clear glass ensures complete compliance with Victorian pool safety regulations without dividing the yard visually—allowing the swimming pool, expansive pool terrace, and the rolling green hills beyond to read as one continuous, uninterrupted landscape.
Building a custom concrete swimming pool in Warrandyte
